ESL TeacherThe Institute is looking for an experienced ESL teacher. Past experience with immigrant population a plus. Responsibilities include: Instructs students in English emphasizing the acquisition of listening, speaking, reading, writing grammar and vocabulary acquisition Create detailed, sequential lesson plans and semester syllabus Maintain student records, attendance and test sheets Perform administrative duties within required time frames Requirements for the position include: Experience with adult ESOL teaching (whether domestic or abroad) Certificate strongly preferred This is the ideal position for retired teachers or students wanting to jump start their career in ESL teaching (we’ve had a fair bit of both in the past!).

Program AssistantThe Institute is looking for a qualified and efficient administrator. The most important qualification is bilingualism in Spanish or French. Experience with immigrants a plus. Duties will include: Intake and registration of new students. Assisting with document preparation and mailings. Answering phone calls from students regarding class times and scheduling. Making appointments for ESOL testing. Keeping organized lists of pertinent student information. Requirements for the position include: Bilingual in Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Polish, Portuguese and others Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.) Attention to detail This is a great opportunity for new graduates who want to get some experience in the non-profit management sector. There is a lot of leeway for new ideas and out of the box thinking! This could develop into paid position for the right person.

Grant WriterThe Institute is looking for a qualified grant writing intern. Previous grant writing or fund raising experience essential. Educational non-profit grant writing experience a huge plus. Duties will include: Assisting the director with new government and foundation grant proposals. Finding new applicable grants. Tracking and reporting obligations relating to our grants. Developing our private donor network, in concert with social media intern. Requirements for the position include: Excellent writing and communication skills Researching ability Good people skills This is a great opportunity for new graduates who want to get further experience in the non-profit management sector. There is a lot of leeway for new ideas and out of the box thinking! This could develop into paid position for the right person.
